How to create a new contract (Merge Document)

This is a very general and barebones guide to contracts, but should serve as a useful introduction to creating new merge document on Martian Logic. Follow along, create your own, and don't be afraid to break anything (because you won't). 

Firstly, open up your existing contract on your device, and identify the fields you want Martian Logic to merge/replace: 


Next, on Martian Logic, go to Packs, then Content Manager:


Select + Create New Merge Document up the top right:

You will be able to copy the tags from here to be inserted into your contract. For example, let's start with getting the current date. Go to Onboarding, find Current Date, and click the Copy button:


The tag is now stored in your clipboard and can be pasted into your contract. We can find the other tags (usually in either Requisition or Onboarding) and insert them as well:


Once you've made all your changes, save the document, and go back to Content Manager > + Create New Merge Document. There you will see the Upload button. Select that and choose the contract file from your device to upload.

Give the contract a name. You can also set whether or not it requires signing or approval here, and then click Create:


Your new contract is now available in the Content Manager!



The three highlighted buttons are, in order:

• Update File: Changing the settings for signing and internal approval
• Upload File: If you make changes, this is where you upload it to, rather than creating a new one
• Download File: Gets you a copy of the Merge Document
